QUEEN BEE FARMS DISTRIBUTED BY FARM TO HOME MILK

Queen B Farms is a small family farm in Mebane, NC (a little over 3 hours east of Asheville). It is owned and operated by Nita and Eric Bunker. This is a 4th generation farm with 200 acres in use.       The chickens, ducks and turkeys are never debeaked, never forced into molting and are not fed any GMO crops. They are also not given hormones or antibiotics.  The chickens are not 100% vegetarian fed because out on pasture they will naturally eat bugs and worms. Chickens are kept out on pasture and moved to fresh grass as needed. They are allowed to spread their wings, nest and to take dust baths, all natural behaviors. The birds are all NPIP Certified (National Poultry Improvement Plan). This means the birds are tested by the USDA every 90 days for the following diseases: Pullorum, Fowl typhoid, Avian Mycoplasmas, Salmonilla enteric and Avian influenzas. This is a volunteer program that Queen Bee Farms willingly registered for as act of full integrity to their customers. If the USDA finds one sick bird they will kill all the birds. So needless to say, the farm has impeccable health code practices while maintaining an open pasture farm friendly atmosphere. It is a delicate balance that takes skill, precision, and time.
